Happiness in overlapping dimensions, brought to life by the mystery of the Datura flower. It draws us into a sprawling trance, halfway between reality and a dream. The hallucinogenic effects of the Datura are used conceptually to gently wash away the exhaustion and sorrow of the real world

           The color, texture, and scale of Da Da Daa create a realm of peaceful silence. The traces on the artwork express a sense of imperfection, softness, and fragility. This creates a dialogue with its surroundings at the Hua Takhe Old Market community—a place already filled with the marks of time on its objects, buildings, and the local way of life. Da Da Daa is created and installed with the visual presence of a art gallery piece. Yet, through its materials and techniques, the white surface of the handmade Saa Paper (mulberry tree paper) embraces the light, allowing the artwork to change color as the light shifts throughout the day. Moreover, its spreading petals do not resist the wind, but rather become one with the breeze blowing through this riverside community. All of these elements allow Da Da Daa to blend into the community space with gentle humility.

          Da Da Daa bridges the contemporary art world with the Hua Takhe Old Market, a community that has evolved to embrace art as its core culture. This giant Datura flower is crafted using origami techniques from special textured Chiang Mai handmade Saa Paper (mulberry tree paper). The toxic effect of the Datura flower is interpreted in a surreal way, appearing like petals swirling through the air. Colors have been stripped away, leaving a peaceful silence. It stands out beautifully as its spreading petals move with the natural breeze. These curling petals are both transparent and solid, perfect and beautifully flawed all at once.
