Blue Sunflower

          "Under the moonlight, the sunflower turns blue." Bright, loyal, resolute. The sunflower's true identity is dyed by the moon, imbued with the unfathomable. The anomaly(?) of its color yields a visual effect that feels strikingly realistic. This peculiar sunflower emerges in a temporal space to which the world has yet to assign meaning, becoming a vacuum between the understood and the unknown. Even the very name "sunflower" is profoundly tethered to the sun's radiance, leaving its definition beneath the moonlight entirely vacant, as though it does not exist.

           This artwork is a negotiation between perceiving reality and the process of constructing it. The artist leverages the visual ambiguity of "truth," expressing this specific, atmospheric effect through the painting's colors, forms, and the textures of the sunflower. Furthermore, by deliberately exploiting the gap between Word, Image, and Meaning, the work dismantles and reconstructs these elements through the artistic process, ultimately manifesting as a representation of the sun in the hours when humanity averts its gaze.
